Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting.
Monitor and record patients’ vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure).
Help patients with mobility and transport needs, including moving within the facility.
Support to Nursing Staff:

Assist registered nurses (RNs) and other healthcare professionals in delivering patient care.
Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for nursing activities.
Emotional Support:

Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness or anxiety.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care needs.
Documentation:

Record patient information and monitor changes in health status in accordance with care plans.
Hygiene and Infection Control:

Maintain a clean and safe environment by following hygiene and infection control protocols.
Specialized Care:

Assist with specialized procedures as required and under supervision, such as feeding tubes or wound care.
Functions
Direct Patient Interaction: Nursing Assistants are usually on the front lines of patient interaction, ensuring their immediate needs are met, which increases patient satisfaction and comfort.
